1938 Australia 5/- aka Crown VF

So  a customer called in to my shop and asked me to appraise his uncirculated 1938 Crown.

“Well,” I exclaimed “it is certainly is a great space filler but unfortunately it is a chines lookalike.”

I then proved it by weighing and testing on the Sigma precious metals verifier that we use.

Be aware that the internet is full of fakes or space fillers as they call them.

This extends to the modern 1 oz silver kookaburra’s, kangaroos, lunars and koala’s as well.

Why the government doesn’t take action to stop forgery of its and our currency I don’t know.
